Educational Software 2
Rosetta Stone (Spanish Level 1), created by Fairfield Language Technologies, offers everyone an effective way of learning a foreign language. It uses an immersion technique, which means that no English words are used in this method. They believe that although one may not actually know the foreign word, one will know the image associated with it. This software also has speech recognition to help individuals with reading and correct pronunciation. To learn more about this software, click on the link located in the Link List at the bottom of this page.

Educational software
Educational software is software that is designed to facilitate teaching and self-learning. It usually assists students in anything that is being taught in the classroom. However, educational software can also be used by adults who are not attending school and children who are just starting kindergarten. Educational software may come in different forms. For instance,"Arthur's Kindergarten Learning System" by the Learning Company, provides children with the chance to improve in Math, Reading and memory skills. Children have fun playing the games while they learn simple processes in Math like addition and subtraction, attain better reading and vocabulary skills and improves their ability to retain knowledge.

Ed Tech - Week Three
In today's class, we learnt the basics of creating a website for our group assignment. This is the first time that I've used Microsoft Publisher. I can say for sure that it wasn't as hard to use as I thought it would be. Our group named the mock website "The Tech Spot Stop"...a bit of a tongue-twister :p. On the site, we're pretending to sell anything tech...from desktops and laptops to headsets and flash drives. However, for the actual assignment, we are to pick a topic from the ones specified by the instructor. We figured that maybe we just might keep the name; I think it's catchy!

Affirming Your Life
What is an affirmation? An affirmation is a positive statement that you make about yourself, your situations, your life. It is not magic and it is not mumbo-jumbo.
It is so easy to sit and think about how we are worthless/unworthy/crazy/stupid/good-for-nothing - need I go on? Do not agree with those who think and say that you will never amount to anything good. Affirm the opposite, and go on and become it. Get up from mental slumber! Do not belive the "you can't help yourself" - lie! You can help yourself! You can make it out of despair/debt/loneliness/sadness/sickness and all the other diseases which we allow to plague us. One of the ways to do that is to affirm you are desired good.
I like to think that an affirmation is a prayer in itself. I believe that affirmations - especially when they are based on the word of God - will help you to alter your life....from madness to gladness! Where do you want to be?
If you repeat what you want to experience/enjoy, become, you will eventually believe it, and then you will find that as you belive it to be possible, you will move in that direction.
"Our subconscious minds have no sense of humour, play no jokes and cannot tell the difference between reality and an imagined thought or image. What we continually think about eventually will manifest in our lives."

Ed Tech - Week Two
In today's class, we started off by doing a little assessment for Computer Basics. Although I did well enough, I realised that there are a couple things I could still work on. After that, we went on to discussing our blog - what's supposed to be included, how to customise it and so on. Thus far, the class is going well. I wonder what we'll do next week...

A few quotes on life...
"I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing." - Agatha Christie
"Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death." - Anais Nin
"The most decisive actions of our life ... are most often unconsidered actions." - André Gide
"They're basically moments in which you're in touch with the meaning of life, when your relationship to the rest of the universe makes sense." - Barbara De Angelis
"There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness." - Carl Jung
